Konichiwa! I will be traveling to Japan as a Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund Scholar to study its educational system and culture from October 1-19, 2006. Feel free to post questions or comments. I will use this as a way to communicate with family, friends, colleagues, and students. I'll try to reply to as many as I can, when I can. The clock below shows you what time it is in Japan....Remember, Japan is 12 hours AHEAD of the United States! They are living in the future!

My Itinerary

Well - we are beginning to start the downward slope. Today and tomorrow I will be with my homestay family. Then on Monday we will have a meeting with the Parent/Teacher association. After the meeting we will go to a Ryokan. That is an old style Japanese Inn. We will have a big meal and time of relaxation. Then, Tuesday we head back to Tokyo. I am sad to think of leaving Kurashiki. It is truly a wonderful place. In Tokyo we will be doing a presentation about Kurashiki. That night we will have a big farewell banquet. Then, Thursday I will get on a plane and come home. Here is the wild part. I leave on Thursday afternoon in Japan and I will arrive home in Texas on Thursday afternoon at the same time! hmmmmmm....
