Konichiwa! I will be traveling to Japan as a Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund Scholar to study its educational system and culture from October 1-19, 2006. Feel free to post questions or comments. I will use this as a way to communicate with family, friends, colleagues, and students. I'll try to reply to as many as I can, when I can. The clock below shows you what time it is in Japan....Remember, Japan is 12 hours AHEAD of the United States! They are living in the future!

Charlie is excited about ONE thing!

Charlie is so excited about the fact that I will be riding the bullet train in Japan. He took my information booklet to school last week and took every available moment to show it to his classmates. I have a mini-cam set up in his classroom as well as mine and we are planning on doing some teleconferencing while I am in Japan. This is going to be quite an experience! I am at the school writing three weeks of lesson plans as I speak! Am I really going to be gone that long? The official countdown begins!

He looks so authoritative as he holds that book! Like he's leading a discussion section.
Or then again, maybe I am projecting just a little bit...
